True Leaders aren't Insecure of themselves!

So Obama shows the Emperor of Japan respect and bows to him. As you know, bowing is a huge sign of respect in Japan. The lower the bow, the more respectful the gesture. What I loved about this, is it shows Obama's sensitivity to culture and tradition. He's secure enough of himself as a leader to worry about the gesture as being "lower" to the emperor.

So on the flipside this causes outrage among certain critics. Critics viewed Obama's gesture as weakness, or view him as the Leader of the Free World, and he shouldn't be subservient to any foreign leader...

"it's not appropriate for an American president to bow to a foreign one, We don't defer to kings or emperors."

"some critics have gone so far as to call the bow a sign of treason " (*reuters)

"the president looks like a chicken picking up crumbs, the president has a very unflattering track record of humiliating himself before foreign rulers " (newsblaze.com)

I still find it shocking the arrogance that still lingers within some people in the United States.I was thinking its just a handful of hick-tards, but its seems like enough people are mad about it to get the attention of the Media. It's kind of scary how the mentality of Conservatives and Republicans are, it takes the country so much further back. Americans have already tasted that bitterness from the Bush era. It's so petty that people would attack a positive gesture, that moves diplomacy and international relations forward. Don't forget Bill Clinton did the same thing in 1994, and he didn't get any scrutiny (something the young republicans video did not show). Nothing else really to say, but my respect goes out to Obama and what he is doing not just for USA but the world stage. The man is one of the most powerful leaders in the world, yet he has the respect and humbleness for others. That is why he is going to be a great leader. Clap for him!!
